Counting down to our V-DAY SALE! This Friday! Get your tickets here.

Valentine's Day can be a pretty one dimensional time of year when it comes to depictions of sexuality and love. Especially since being a part of the Instagram community we have become increasingly aware (and worried) by the lack of diversity in the visual messages we feast upon everyday. What will happen if we keep giving our minds the same message that sexuality and sensuality are only associated with, and experienced by people who fall into the narrow category of thin, white, young, hetero, cis (their gender identity / expression aligning with the sex they were assigned at birth), and able-bodied?

We're guilty of this ourselves often due to the lack of diverse 'content' (silly Internet word for 'screen fodder'). This year we are pledging to create more of our own pictures and videos to show sensual people in all their glorious forms and ways of being. Longer post about this to follow next month...

Kameishi for Archer magazine

For now, here are some online spaces to marvel at the infinite ways people can experience their sexuality, identity, and bodies:

1. JBC Lingerie, Melbourne-based independent designer making hot as F strappy comfy pieces for people of all shapes, sizes, colours and unicorn passports (reference main picture of absolute babes). We are currently in the process of collabing on a limited edition line just for Passionfruit... watch this space...

2. Transparent, the Amazon series created by the seriously ineffable Jill Soloway is about a v hilarious and v self-absorbed family. Each character is navigating their gender identity and sexuality with surgery to sexual escapades. Some of the casting is a bit probbo, but it's a solid industry attempt at representing more queer, trans, and POC (people of colour) cuties.

3. Folk Co, the Melbourne street casting agency are doing a wondrously sexy job at breaking through the fashion industry's parameters by representing diverse, authentic personalities who proudly fly their freak flags HIGH. They represent some of our major crushes like @femmeplastic and @foxpfleuger. Check out their dreamy Insta...

4. Archer, the Australian (yeah ya) sexuality, gender and identity magazine is a platform for the lesser-heard voices and artists worldwide. We're so chuffed to have them capturing the unique voices so we can all continuously learn and admire.
